Wines
Deer Creek Vineyards produces exceptional wines in 4 varietals – Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris.
-
Chardonnay
The Chardonnay grape variety is a classic white wine grape grown all around the world. It ages well in the bottle, though it will not age as long as many red wines. Wines made from the Chardonnay grape are usually served chilled. Chardonnay matches very well with chicken and dishes that are served with a lot of butter or a cream sauce.
-
Merlot
Fruity ripe, supple flavors with a rich and deep taste and a lush mouth-feel. Merlot has slightly lower natural acidity than Cabernet and lower tannin level making it versatile for pairing with food.
-
Pinot Gris
Oregon’s growing conditions allow Pinot gris to blossom into a unique Oregon style with lively, fruit-forward character with aromas of pear, apple and/or melon. It is crisp and clean and medium bodied with a mineral component. Good acidity well balanced. Ephemeral qualities. Oregon Pinot Gris is yellow to copper in color, sometimes with a pale pink tinge and it is food friendly.
-
Pinot Noir
Strong cherry and strawberry aromas and flavors are often the most notable components in these wines. The aging potential can range from 3 to 12 years depending on the quality and style of the wine. Pinot Noir is very versatile in its ability to match up with foods. Grilled seafood is an especially good match with most wines made from Pinot Noir.
