Deer Creek Vineyards takes great pride in creating handcrafted and artisan wines that are healthy and free of dangerous additives and chemicals.  Our wines are made with indigenous yeast versus cultured yeast.  Indigenous yeast is the yeast that is found on the fruit, in the vineyard and truly reflects the land and the flavors that it comes from.  Did you know that only 20% of the world’s wineries use indigenous yeast?  
Our wines are free of “free SO2″ synthetic sulfites that are typical added to industrial or cookie cutter wines. Grapes have a naturally occurring amount of sulfites in them.
Our wines are also free of velcorin, the harmful carcinogenic substance that is added to so many industrial wines.  It is typical used to speed the overall processing up so that the winery can get their wines to market faster.  This chemical is so harmful that hazmat gear is required to administer even one drop into a wine bottle.

2012 Summer Concert Series Summer will be here soon enough and it marks the start of our 2nd year having a Summer Concert Series.  This year we have decided to have the concerts on Sunday afternoons and some Thursdays evening from June to September.  We are bringing back some of our favorites band from last year to “Wow” us again.  The amazing Ben Rice Band will performing in July and Broadway Phil & the Shouters, a local favorite, will be performing in July as well.  Watch for updates to the 2012 Summer Concert Series schedule.  I will be adding them as I book them.  We have finally added a feature so that you can purchase your concert tickets online.  If you purchase your tickets online you can also take advantage of our stay-cation packages.

The Lake is so beautiful and peaceful.  They keep the areas clean and there is a small general store to pick up a few supplies. You can rent fishing boats, canoes, pedal boats and kayaks. There is even a miniature golf course for the kiddies.  Nona and Colin, the owners of the Resort are the nicest folks around.

So we were thrilled to find out that our wines won TWO medals from the recent 2012 S.F. Chronicle Wine Competition.  This Competition is THE largest Wine Competition in the world for U.S. wines. This year they had a record breaking number of entries, 5500 ! It was the first time that we have entered a national competition.  We won a silver medal for 2010 Pinot Gris and a bronze medal for our Pinot Noir.  For Southern Oregon wines, this competition was a good indicator that we as vintners are doing something right.  From my count, of the Oregon wines that won about 80% from from Southern Oregon.  We definitely have one of the best regions in the world for growing some amazing grapes to make our premium handcrafted artisan wines and some great wine makers too.
